For the Color Names Project, I was asked to create a piece of work that displays at least 15 different colors. This piece of work could be a simple set of shades with various colors (which is what I did), a piece of artwork with different colors, or an illustration traced or created using the pen tool - colored 15 different ways. For the Color Schemes Project, I was asked to create four different color palettes. Each of the palettes had to include 5 colors. I also had to have each of the following types of schemes: monochromatic, analogous, complementary, and triadic. I was able to present these palettes anyways that I chose. I created shapes and changed their colors by checking and recording the HEX codes on an online color picker. I also had to label each palette by its "scheme" name. Adobe Color is the website that I used for the online color picker. Adobe Color helped show different types of color scheme examples. Color NamesColor Schemes

Typography is the art and technique of organizing type to make written text recognisable, readable, and appealing when viewed. Typography is important since it affects how people react to the document, sign, etc. Also, good typography will give a strong visual hierarchy, provide balance, and set the overall tone. The quote, "each font has a personality and a purpose" means that the font sets a feeling about the text. For example, if you were to put a funny, crazy, wild font on an important document, people might not think the document is important. (Good typography reinforces the meaning of text). The five types of fonts we learned about in class is Serif, Sans Serif, Monospaced, Script/Handwritten, and Display. Serif: Has "feet", is used in large blocks of text, used in print. Sans Serif: Doesn't have "feet", good for headlines/titles/small chunks of texts, used on the web. Monospaced: Each letter takes up same amount of space, not good for large blocks of text, used in coding. Script/Handwritten: Cursive/calligraphy/handwritten, difficult to read, good for logos/large headlines/details. Display: Good attention getters, use sparingly. Typeface ComparisonFor this activity, I needed to create a document that displays 5 fonts. (1 Serif, 1 Sans Serif, 1 Monospaced, 1 Script/Handwritten, and 1 Display). For each font, I needed to include an example text for each font that would remain the same throughout the assignment. I also needed to give the font's name and label the type of font. Word PortraitsFor this activity, I needed to create a document that displays 10 fonts with 20 words total. I also needed to label each font with the font name.
These exercises were assigned for me to make shapes using the pen tool in Gravit. I learned many things such as how to make shapes and lines using only the pen tool. Some exercises I did were the four superhero exercises. Those exercises helped me learn how to create straight lines, curved lines, corner lines, and much more! Another different exercise I did was the penny exercise. In this exercise, I cut Abraham Lincolns face from the penny. In the end, I learned how to make my own cut out pictures using the pen tool. My picture contains of penguins standing on the moon. Even though these exercises were a bit complicated, they were fun to do and, I learned a lot!
Sources: Moon Picture Penguins For this assignment, I created a scene that shows mountains because during the summer, me and my family enjoy hiking one particular mountain in North Vancouver called Grouse Mountain. My scene has mountains, trees, the moon, stars, and clouds.
In today's lesson, I learned how to change a shapes looks (by changing the corners) and I also learned how to compound two shapes.
For this assignment, I learned how to align shapes. I also learned how to group the shapes and I learned some keyboard shortcuts for layering the shapes.
For this assignment, I learned how to create borders for shapes, create dotted dashes/lines for borders and, I learned how to make an object transparent.
For this assignment, I learned how to create shapes on Gravit and, I learned how to change the colors, sizes, shapes, etc on Gravit. I also learned a couple of shortcuts.
In Gravit, I learned to make multiple pages with different sizes and colors and I also learned how to change the units, and more!
In this code, I tried to make a pizza because I was very hungry at the time. Before, I wasn't strong with coding but, this helped me get stronger with my coding skills. Also, before I didn't think coding would be interesting but, as I started doing the KhanAcademy activity's, it got more and more interesting. I really enjoyed making this pizza and I think it would be fun to make it again! Click here to try out the KhanAcademy tutorials yourself! |
